So, its cold outside and more than a little muddy. How about another one of those group rides, only this time I'l try not to be ill or in another country.
A Pre Spring celebration of stuff.....STW style.......?

swinley today was nice. the ground was nice and hard with a dusting of snow in places.
wot knottie said for Quantocks and i'm hosting an Exmoor Easter parade .Guess when !
Why don't you organise one then ๐
I'm possibly going to be there for a week day ride week commencing the 22nd. Waiting to hear back from a couple of people. Thursday 25th is the front runner at the moment.
Always happy to organise another Swinley Forest ride but am totally reliant on STW'ers stepping forward with offers to help guide and sweep the groups ๐
anyone up for a bike ride in the q's the weekend of the 20/21 march?
*runs off and hides from the q's guys*

I could be around to guide a mid-pace group in March?
Pete - when are you planning on riding Brechfa?

Me maybe.....
I will come along & help out where I can.
Purbecks will be April probably

I wouldn't mind joining one of these rides but don't think i'll be free enough on weekends till at least April ๐
I'll be up for a quantocks ride if I can tag along!
how far are the quantocks from hertfordshire?
Is anyone up for a very wet Mid Wales Tywi track type ride thingy? I'm happy to lead at a gentlemanly pace, fun on the trails and tea in the bothy are the watchwords. Bring teabags, milk, buns and a cooker thing.
ambrose - i may be interested, whereabouts in mid wales - will be over that sort of direction a couple times in the summer.
how far are the quantocks from hertfordshire?
They're a bit south of Bristol
So however far from Hertfordshire, to Bristol, then a bit further... At a guess, 2 1/2 hours.
Jedi, about 4 1/2 hours. You need to make a weekend of it. Xc Saturday and uplift downhill day Sunday.
hmmm
Uplifts at triscombe now ๐
Sort of between Llyn Brianne and Claerwen Reservoir. I'd be staying at one of the local bothies or perhaps the pub in Pontrhydfendigaid.

Hi Sharki. Is that organised uplifts or DIY ?
Granny-ring uplifts.
jedi - it take me about 1.5hrs from swindon and for me to get to swinley it's about an hour (40mins to j10 of the M4). if one of the lads could post up a postcode/sat nav thing that would help.
sharki/knottie and co - does the 20/21 weekend suit you?
I can't do that weekend. Just checked my calender and it's my wedding anniversary.
First weekend in April?
First weekend in April is Easter .You could come to my Exmoor Easter Parade instead . ๐
OK, so in order we have:
Quantocks March 20/21st
Exmoor 1st week in April (avoiding all the yellow rubber ducks floating around the streams that time of year)
Purbecks April
Swinley? I am up for helping out, CG, name the weekend.
Did I miss anything there?
Would be good to get a god turn out to all of these.
cant do 20th as i got a group booking that day.
Would that mean you would be available on the 21st, and could teach a few of us the black magic art of raising wheels higher than half an inch off the deck?
Jedi, just checked mileage. 170 miles 3hrs 40 mins. if that helps. Sponging Mc, I don't have a granny ring :::)
I'd love to, but i'm running demo weekend at Cannock!
20th 21st is no good for me, don't mind helping out with the orgasming again but can't arsist with guidage.
Dropoff, a bit of both, non offical uplifts, but from local Downhillers....i'll contact them and see what the crack is..
