As title really,

Lots of bikes sold out for this year with no forecast of replacement.

Do you think manufacturers are holding on for the release of 2021 bikes now?

If so when do you reckon they will be released.

Some 2021 bikes have been and gone already with no more for a few months.

As and when they have them...

Also remember that a significant number of manufacturers have now come away from the traditional model year thing, and are now progressing towards updating any bikes as and when they see relevant to.

For instance I was looking at the YT Jeffsy 29 and it just says "out of stock" with no forecast on new stock arriving.

Also remember that stock of 2021 bikes will be low due to all the factories in china will have been shut due to cv-19.
China is the main producer of carbon fibre and aluminium as well so raw materials wouldn’t have been available.

Already Trek’s 2021 out and about and as above some already sold out for the year due to China and the upsurge in bike sales.

As per other threads on this, they're already coming out. Spesh Epics are landing in stores now (and selling like the proverbial warm gateaux), and plenty of others around too. See above re Trek.

Couple of things...

More companies are going to move away from the model year concept and release what they have when it's ready. Even more sensible to do this given...

Supply chains are a mess, it's going to take 6 months or so for them to be anywhere near 'normal'. Some suppliers are giving very tight allocations of bikes between now and January, or further ahead. Lots of stuff on order is already sold anyway!

Interesting times...

All the traditional trade shows are off so I’m guessing bike marketing folks are working out other ways to do it (virtual launches and the like), some quicker than others.

Wondering when the winter kit ranges will come through, need a new waterproof and most of Fox/Endura/Leatt and the like is sold out unless you’re XS or XXL.
