What are the common causes of failure (if known) and how often have owners managed to fix the problem themself?
If under warranty send it back as you may get newer parts fitted too, if not bleed it, then replace seals, we have kits in stock ๐
Not had one fail yet - but always worth checking the obvious stuff first.
Correct pressure - 250psi.
Check the valve core is tight and not leaking.
Don't have the seat clamp to tight and use fibre grip paste or similar when you install the post.
Loco - have you had to buy any of the 'special' RS Reverb tools to work on them? I see that various special tool packs are available.
For the air seals, which the kit has in it, shaft clamps are handy as it's easy to damage shafts.
The biggest problem we have seen is folk crashing and pulling the hose from the lever on the bars thus needing a simple bleed or they develop stiction in the shaft which can be sorted by fitting new seals and using silicone spray religiously every ride (they do not like the whinstone dust/granite dust that is a feature on many of the 7stanes trail surfaces as this turns to an abrasive grinding past very quickly, this also kills fork stantions at an alarming rate), and some have developed fore/aft play in the shaft though not all and it's not always the heaviest riders either which leads me to surmise they may have had a few faults in their production runs.
The warranty is very good, more often than not we get a new unit on any faulty units we send back.
Thanks for all replies so far.
Loco - I've struggled to find alu shaft clamps in the UK previously - have you had some custom made or know where to buy them?
Make most of my clamps on the lathe, have probably ordered the rockshox ones but don't think they've come into stock yet in the UK, using the 'homemade' ones anyway.
What is the official 'warranty' on a reverb anyway?
Does anyone know some reliable contact details for fishers? My (original design) reverb hose is almost pulling off the barb at the saddle end.
They've not responded to e-mails through the website.
2 years I think
