[Closed] When does your winter road bike come out ?

And your shiny light 'summer' one goes away ? Increasingly dreich and damp here in west of Scotland and heading out for a spin early afternoon. The carbon bike got a full wash and lube a few days ago after a soggy damp ride and is looking resplendent in the garage. The CDF is sitting there raring to go..... 35c tyres, mudguards...... My normal rule of thumb is as soon as the gritters come out, which is a bit away yet. What about others ?

I usually "winterise" (ie fit mudguards) my road bike end of October, it stays like that till march/April.

Well I used my winter bike for an overnight ride near the summer solstice... But I would draw the line at gritters being it for the summer bike. A bit of damp is unavoidable from time to time but there's no point having the two if you take the summer bike out on salty roads.
