Budget £350 - £450 must be strong not bothered if they are a tad heavy as I’m a bit lardy . Riding type is aggressive fast singletrack with the odd jump once in a while.

Give Dave Hunt a ring at https://dcrwheels.co.uk/ He has built me both road and mtb wheels, and was very helpful with matching wheels to budget, and intended purpose. Superb have not had any trouble at all with them.

I'd be looking at Just Riding Along Trail Dogs on Flows for that sort of money/use.

The cotic I demoed had those hunt wheels on in 29er flavour. They felt real good. Responsive and quick pick up. Would pick them over the hope enduros I think. Halo vortex?

I have a new (one ride old) set of Hope pro 4 (purple hubs) on Alex Supra 35 - non boost. They have a new set of Minion DHF/R WT on. Built up by my LBS before Christmas but I have since bought a boost frame - Doh!

Dt Swiss EX511 would be worth a look, I was looking for a similar type of wheel and it got pretty decent reviews.

Got mine handbuilt from Moonglu in Ripon, top service and the wheels are excellent

I've been looking at the exact same specification of wheels for a couple of weeks now.

Hope Enduro are fairly narrow these days with somewhere around a 25mm internal and there are a few reports of the rims being 'soft', got some 26 enduro on my current bike and they seem OK though.

I'm going with the Hunt EnduroWide I think, about £150ish cheaper than Hope Pro4 with either Stans or DT Swiss rims (both of which get pretty good reviews all over the Internet.) but the money I save on the Hunts I can spend elsewhere and they get good reviews too.

Second ex511’s on a hub of your choice. Strong solid rims, really can’t fault them.

I've got a pair for sale in the classifieds if you don't mind mismatched wheels.

Stans Flow mk3 with hope pro 2 front and pro4 (shimano) rear. 15x100 front/12x142 rear. Less than 200 miles old. £200 plus postage. This is the ‘wanted’ section isn’t it!? Great! I thought it was finished!

I recently built up some XM481s onto straight pull 350 hubs and they have been serving me well so far. I’m >110kg without any kit or bike and haven’t been to worried about taking these down some fairly rocky trails or over smaller jumps (probably no more than two or three feet from the ground if I’m lucky) if that helps as a comparison.

I’ve just had some wheels built by a chap named Harry.

http://www.harryrowland.co.uk/

Bites hubs with some 30mm internal alloy rims.

I’m a big lad and they stood up to me throwing the bike down the hill at BPW without a glitch.

Damn you, I had decided on Hunt wheels until you posted this. Stand rims with superstar hubs come in at £270....now that's tempting!

Is there a link to the £270 Stans superstar deal as I cannot see it?

Whoops just spotted the code

Any ideas for the weigh of a 29er set in flow and arch?

Is the flow exactly the same just wider?

Code for Superstar is OMG40. Gives you 40% off. Eyeing up some Flows on V6 hubs for ~£245.

Just ordered a pair of Flows on v6. Came in at 270 after the 40% off.

Haven't heard much about these v6 hubs but the pdf sale point had me. Lots of details about the British build and use of sapim spokes etc.

Can't beat 270 for a set of Flows on a fully serviceable British built hub.

Has anybody managed to buy the Superstar's with a 142x12 (STD Hub) rear configuration? I keep trying to select this option, but the rear defaults to 148x12 (BOOST hub) when I get to the cart page - very frustrating! Have emailed customer service but no reply....

No but after ordering they have emailed me to confirm my order saying they've been having issues. Could I confirm I wanted boost basically.

Yeah it's a glitch they know of. Order them anyway and they'll send you a confirmation email asking which you wanted.

Was thinking about some new wheels for the Solaris along similar lines to the OP, gone for a set of the Superstar with the discount. £245 for Sapim Race and brass nippples on 29er Flows, annoyingly no black hubs left by the time I ordered, so we'll see what the gunmetal ones look like.

Yep, they got back in the end and said order anyway and amend later, will see what turns up!
