How much drop are you looking for? Presume around 80-100mm if it's for a child?
What;s the seatpost size & budget? Do you need stealth or external routing?

That’s a bit lacking in information to provide any suggestions! Ie what length drop / what needs to be child friendly about it /
What diameter does the post need to be / is price a concern etc etc.

Brand X Ascend is often the right answer - as long as your lad’s bike has a long enough seat tube to be able to take the post in.

My boys (age 9 and 10) have Brand X Ascends on their Saracen Mantra 2.4s.

They have the externally routed 125mm drop versions.

No complaints at all. I thought they might have issue getting them to drop all the way as they have a sealed air can that cannot be adjusted but my worries were unfounded.

I'm very interested in this too, the main concern is my son not being heavy enough to compress the post.He can probably get away with 125mm drop in his Voodoo Bakka 24.
