[#4390592]

I have a little dilema. I'm finding it difficult to wheelie using the new XT brakes coupled with 180 icetech rotors.

The brakes are so damn powerful that even the slightest touch brings the front wheel slamming straight back down. Am i just pants or are my brakes just untamed beasts?

Any pointers very welcome.

I have the answer. Swap them for my old xt's and you will be good as gold.

Either that or learn how to use your fingers to modulate better ๐Ÿ™‚

Instead of using your brakes to stop you going over the back, use your legs to stop you dropping the front wheel.
You may have to continuously accelerate to keep this going, which is when changing gear whilst wheelying helps.
Oh, and stand up.

Modulating the new xt brakes is like asking a three year old to do Calculus.

It aint happening my friend. They are very on-off in nature.

Perhaps I have them setup wrong. Factory bled. If that helps.

I didn't think you used your brakes to wheelie. I assumed you use body weight and your legs. A wheelie is just a manual where you pedal isn't it? Like a cheating manual?

No, a manual is like a gay wheelie.
For instance, how far can you manual uphill?

Spray some GT85 on your brake rotors. That will solve it.
