hi, I'm looking to have a wheel rebuilt.
anyone know of a decent wheel builder, preferably in a shop in north or central London? don't mind if it's a chain. it's a burly mountain bike wheel if that makes a difference.
thanks.

Best MTB spanner monkey in central London was, until recently, the frighteningly camp and effete Justin at Cycle Surgery Spitalfields

(Justin, if you're reading this, the comment above is revenge for doughnuts on my handlebars you big nancy! Oh, and congratulations on the new job! I may just have to be in touch.... 😉 )

Nowadays, I would use either the workshop manager at the Surgery in Holborn (Northish) or Victoria (Central) both are very good indeed in my exxperience.

Failing that, how far Norf would you want to be?

cheers Flash, Holborn is prob the nearest. £45 quid seems a bit steep - it's basically just replacing 32 spokes... and I might have to pay more as I'll not be buying a hub and rim from them (using old ones)?
I'm in Angel, but anywhere between the City and Crouch End would be fine.
