[Closed] Wheel building question

I've just started to build my first wheel. I was told to start putting the spokes in at 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock and 9 o'clock. My question is whats the reason for waiting 3 hours between putting each spoke in, its going to take ages to finish. My only guess you have to let the rim settle in. Thanks
