Any recommendations?

I've got some new rims which a mate was going to build onto my hubs: However, he has let me down a bit and I may need to take them to a shop.

Any recommendations in the West Sussex area? I live about 10 miles from Gatwick, if that helps.

Mike at Beyond Mountain Bikes in Cranleigh (between Guildford and Horsham) is fantastic, only works a couple of afternoons, so there may be a small wait, but his wheels are faultless.

Freeborn in Horsham?

I'd also really recommend Stradawheels in Hove but it's a bit of a trek & you might end up spending much more than you'd planned! Darren's wheels are brilliant though.

Do you have any experience of wheels built by Freeborn? If there wheels are anything like some of their customer service then I think I'll stay clear.

I don't think building wheels is all that difficult really.

Joe and Jim at Freeborn build perfectly good wheels, as does Rowan at Nirvana, Roger at Head For the Hills (OK so technically surrey) and I'm sure every other decent bike shop in the area.

You may laugh at this but, i'd honestly reccomend Evans at Gatwick. they built up a set of 29er wheels for me and they've been ace, ridden a few times now done a couple of drops and jumps and absolutley no worries at all. Reasonably priced as well at £40 per wheel including double butted spokes, some of the shops i spoke to wanted £1-£1.50 per spoke plus £20 wheel building fee.
