E-bike (nothing specific yet) - pencilled in for my 60th in couple years
A really nice folder,that's not a Brompton.
Sold my Canyon Nerve for what I wanted for it - quite happy about that.
I have a YT Izzo Pro ordered, build date is the 2nd December. Need to pay for it soon.
The YT Mill is about 40 mins drive from my house so almost an LBS 🙂
Also looking for an M6R Brompton for Mrs Dubs (She's appropriated my M3L and I want it back) but that can wait until the spring.
Ibis Ripley, i've been scouring the internets for months looking for a frame.
If anyone is looking to move a large or even extra large please give us a msg!!
Given how much road riding I'm doing these days, something faster and shinier and hopefully with electronic shifting, so probably one of:
- Orbea Orca OMX (M10i or similar)
- Scott Addict RC
- Cannondale SuperSix Evo
- possibly the Canyon Aeroad
Got my eye on a Whyte 909 currently on eBay but also keep going back to the advert for Traceys enduro (even though I cant ride for shit).
Cash is tight so second hand for me all the way.
E-Bike for me, maybe this time next year or the year after that. Nothing definite chosen yet though but airing towards the Levo purely due to the dealership backup for when it goes wrong.
New Bike ?, think ive just decided.
Spoke to Ben(is it?) at Kinetics in Glasgow about doing a test ride on an R&M packster 40 and the multicharger.
Arranged to go in this week and try them, though he's only got the mixte multicharger in for test. Can be ordered though.,
I'll try both but I reckon it's going to be the basic multicharger. And I think it would be better for bikepacking/camping wise, even getting the train north Scotland its a better more acceptable bike shape for the train people(they can be a bit funny at times.
It's this pandemic, and ive just come through another virus, showing despite precautions, you can get a cold and the like. So with that in mind, and rather than wait till i've raised the other half(saved about 1/2) im just going to pig into the savings and take it from there.
Point being, need to be alive to spend those savings 😆
Got a Banshee Titan on order. I'll transfer what I can from the Aeris onto it and get a new fork, shock and front wheel.
Annoying that you can't buy them without a shock in the UK so I'll have to flog the X2 that it comes with to fund things.
I’d like a Swarf Contour, but way outside of my budget. Still a man can dream.
Swarf Contour
Goggled it and thats so much nicer than todays standards. The lines are lovely.
I was speaking to a chap a few weeks ago who bought a new Titan frame without a shock (he had an MRP coil fitted).
You'll hate me as I can't remember which shop he said it was 🙁
Not sure.
It’ll either me a gravel bike or a Jew cargo bike.
But in truth, likely neither for the moment.
Brompton electric. Will take a while to save up for it though.
There's a big gulf between what I'd like to have as a budget for the next bike and what I'll likely have!
For the last couple of years, I've been torn between the idea of a gravel bike or an aero road bike.
Given my budget in the real world, I really wanted to buy a Boardman adv 8.9 2021 for £900 this summer, but I unexpectedly needed a new commuter and I couldn't see myself not being paranoid every time I locked it up at work or when I popped to the shops... So I ended up with a Marasa hybrid and dreams of anything nicer will have to wait!
For the first time in a long time I really don't know.
Stage 5 frame is new this year, forks recent and everything else works.
Marin gravel does it's job and is most used, road bike just been sold.
Retro collection slimmed down to my mint 1992 Orange Clockwork.
Can't say I'm really interested in anything new which is a odd place for me. Maybe replace the Stage's groupset? Might look at a gravel upgrade if I can be bothered to research what's out there? I'd thought about a XC HT but really not MTB'ing enough to justify it........
Fairly happy with what I've got, but I do quite fancy a single speed again after many years without. Might build up the NS society frame in the garage, then keep an eye out for a second hand stooge
For the 1st time in 20 years I've not got my eye on anything. I've got a hollow feeling not needing or wanting a new bike- I dont even want any bits. Saying that I've bought 3 since this time last year.
I’m in no rush, but maybe something like a Santa Cruz Chameleon. Sort of fancy something with disk brakes on the dark side too.
Bowman Weald just ordered.
Going to re-use bars/stem/seatpost/cranks and front/rear mechs (sram force) from current bike and add force brakes and shifters plus disk wheel set and mudguards.
Currently deliberating between carbon rim wheels (£660) or alloy on DT for less £.
Doner bike is a lovely custom chesini in Columbus spirit tubing with rim brakes that wasn’t really working with mudguards as a winter bike.
The 2021 vitus sommet crx looks the nuts & is crazy vfm & I dont even like non ebikes these days. Keeping a close eye on the release date.
My next bike will be a cargo ebike. Looking forward to it. But not until I relocate to Weymouth.
Spesh Epic Evo, Norco Optik or Ibis Ripley 4 or any other slack 120mm FS. Already have a Ripley 2 slacked out as far a sit will go with compromising it, so maybe something a bit different such as Deviate Highlander with the high pivot. Piggy bank not big enough yet though..............
Ill be getting an Orbea WILD FS team or whatever it happens to be called in 2025 when I go full electric- MTB for my 50th birthday, not to replace but to compliment my acoustic enduro rig whilst I still have the lungs and legs for the climbs. Until then its make do with riding and maintaining the current fleet ( FS, HT, summmer and winter road bikes, CX-gravel and retro singlespeed)
I’m looking at a custom hardtail build, once my house purchase goes through (fingers crossed). So hopefully I can get it started Feb next year.
For the frame I like the look of the Cotic BFe Max, Pipedream Moxie 3 or Airdrop Bitmap (which would have to be a “barn find” I know). Then obtain the other drool-worthy components throughout the rest of the year.
Some sort of big-travel eBike.
I've had the nod from work to get it via RTW which will save me a couple of quid, and give me a couple of years to pay for it.
I've been looking at the 2021 Commencal Meta Power SX, but 180mm forks, 63 degree head-angle etc is a LOT of bike, it would be perfect for doing laps of FOD DH and BPW, but it might be just too much for my usual places.
For the first time in more than a decade I won't be selling my current bike to help pay for it, thus I'll have a quiver, stable, collection or whatever cringy term people use for having more than one bike again. Partly because I want to keep a proper pedal bike and partly because I love my Bird 145LT, even with it's steep 64 degree head angle.
Not wanting to drag down the fun game of bike window shopping, I won't be doing anything until all the 'current bullshit' is resolved, a chunky R2W liability would take up my entire potential redundancy payment as well as a decent chunk of my final pay, just at the worst possible time.
It will be a steel or Titanium Gravel bike, can't make my mind up at moment
Probably a Fearless Warlock as soon as its released.
Sold a vulture to fund an XC bike but moving house towards flatter local trails so want a gravel bike again. And the Vulture was superb, I just bought the wrong size.
If we are dreaming then that Swarf Contour with geometry for a 150mm fork and mullet option please. I keep trying to like the Starling Twist but I can't.
Of this years crop I think the Commencals look great.
Current bike is based around a V1 Airdrop Edit so I guess in reality whatever one of you buys this year in another 3 years so choose carefully..
And I'm suprised at how few riders have said E bikes (this isn't meant in an anti E bike way so no need to derail the thread).
Got a Nukeproof Reactor frame coming in November along with DT XMC1501 wheels, SRAM AXS and some other bling all on RTW. Hoping to be happy with that for a few years then probably move on to an eeber.
I have been wanting to pick up a Gravel bike for a while, most likely a Fustle Causeway but we are looking to relocate soon so that's been put on hold.
For the big bike I keep looking at a lot of the new options which actually are usually quite similar in geometry to my Last Glen, so nothing really there to draw me away, however if I ever had the funds I would be all over a Last Tarvo, that thing is stunning!
After a promising chat with the lbs this morning I may well be getting an Orbea Rise - which hopefully will let me keep up with young Taz on his single speed!!
Mine will hopefully be a Marino custom hardtail if it ever turns up - about 4 months into the wait now I think. Keeps getting pushed out the date for it to be shipped - was meant to be this week but sadly not.
Got a load of nice ish bits waiting to go on it - Silver Pike Ultimate rc2, Erase Components hubs with XM421’s, carbon bar, DMR Defy stem, Code R brakes etc
Niche +1
A gravel grit bike

I'd really like a super-light road bike. I've never had one. I like the look (and ethos) of the Specialized Aethos. I don't need it, I won't race it, and I know that I'll be the equally absurd equivalent of the middle-aged, mid-life crisis man tooling around town in a Ferrari.
I really like the idea of a 'Meta TR' not sure which build though, probably 'Essential' as although I prefer the look of the 'Race' model I'm much happier tuning air shocks and don't really need 160mm of travel.
I have sold a few recently and have a Giant Contend AR 1 on order for winter road duties. Not arriving till January though.
Am still trying to sell a new Giant Talon HT that I bought a few months ago to try and get my 17 yr old out a bit during lockdown...and failed.. ☹️
I must admit I'm surprised there are so few ebikes on the list. I expected it to be the stock answer. Even those that want one often say "in a few years" by which time the market will have moved to pushing the next big thing I suspect.
Personally I'm conflicted with my FlareMax. I love it but I'm coming to the sad conclusion that I just don't enjoy the sort of riding it was designed for. Since getting one of these gravel things I've barely touched it and what's worse I can't seem to summon up the enthusiasm for it. The inevitability of crashing (sooner or later) on technical descents just takes all of the pleasure out of them (for me). I'd probably be better off with something lighter and less capable that would make the climbs and less technical bits more fun and just accept that I'm never going to ride down the more technical bits. But that feels like giving up.
140mm 29er that's lighter than mine but no rush
I fancy a HT to bike pack. I looked the look of the Smokestone Mr Harry or a Shand Bahookie with the carbon fork.
Both currently dreams however! 🙂
Mine's looking like a '21 Remedy 8 at the moment. A do-it-all to replace my Aeris 145 and Clockwork 137S. For the Peak District and the odd enduro once events are back up and running.
It's considerably shorter than both bikes mentioned though, but I luckily have a mate with one that I can test ride. So if I get on with it then it's probably a done deal.
Orbea Oiz M-10 TR for me, ordered, deposit paid, not available until March 2021
https://www.orbea.com/ie-en/bicycles/mountain/oiz/cat/oiz-m10-tr
xc race capable but not 100% race focused so "hopefully" also a reasonable trail bike.
Planning on some xc racing in 2021 but that may or may not happen depending on the bugver
I'll never be threatening the podium, probably never threatening the top 2\3 of the field so no point in me buying a 100% race bike. Making up the numbers, getting fitter and with a bit of luck a little bit faster with each race 🙂
