I'm not talking make and model here.
My road bike's named Ramone, it just made sense when I got him. He's a Spesh Allez.
My Meta has no name, I need to refer to him/her but feel reluctant to commit to a name. I feel once it's done, it's done; like a boat.
"The Kinesis"
"The Singlespeed"
"The Giant"
&
"The Inbred"
To my girlfriend they are known as The Green One and The Black One, to my mates they are known as The Identiti and The Iron Horse or Mr Hyde and Mk III.
Anthropomorphising inanimate objects is weird enough; but ascribing gender is, surely, a step too far.
Don't really go in for that sort of thing, but I did used to refer to my old Big Hit with an extra "S" in front of one of the words.
Didn't like it much.
My bikes are always called Judy.
(an ex called my old Giant MTB this because of the forks, and it stuck)
The shopper
The spesh
The On-one
The bouncy one maybe.
I call the car the bat mobile, as in "to the bat mobile.".
people who get their knickers in a twist over anthropomorphising inanimate objects are wierd..
in front of Mrs yunki my current bike is called Cheyenne..
in front of anyone else it's just my bike..
the steel. the Ti, the Fs, the 26er, the road bike

"SLAG"...COME ON YOU SLAG, GET UP THIS HILL 😆
I’m all for anthropomorphising inanimate objects.
Florence 2. All black and gothy with ginger hair (orange bars).
Dr Shipman. Takes every opportunity available to try and kill me.
Mr Skidz. Fixie skidder.

Mine had a similar Christening... it's called
"F*&%£$g %^nt"
.... Its based on a Dickens Character.
Fellwig Munt
Wiiiiiiiiiilllllllmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
not bothered for a long time but I used to own a beryl.
My full suss is called Rosie, she's a Rose Jabba Wood and calling something Jabba is hurtful
Only one of mine has a name and that's because it's otherwise unbranded.
Can posters put their age and IQ please?
Guapo
The Frog
Smellsworth
Pointless tangent: There's an old Renault Clio round the corner with "Dennis" written on the back in big homemade silver lettering.
I always like to think it's because the driver is called Dennis - but I suspect it's actually some teenage girl's first car.
DONK

My bike actually has a name from the Factory... Cos it's a Maverick!
It was Christened "Medusa" in the factory, and like all Mavericks, has its name engraved onto the headtube badge!
So there you go...
My other bikes are "The Genesis", "The Giant" and "The Road Bike" though... 😉
My road bike's named Ramone
Makes it sound like some sort of Rent boy;
“I’m just off out for a ride on Ramone”
I’d re-evaluate that name choice…
My own are at present:
White MTB
Black MTB
SS MTB
BMX
Road bike
But if we’re Anthropomorphising I’ll rename them:
-Mr Fidget
-Captain bumble
-Lord Hufanangle
-****ty Jim
-Innate Feeling of self loathing…
Naming bicycles is a vapid, inane waste of time… so I’m all in favour.
"****ty Jim"...
that's an interesting name, how did he come by his label?
Mine are called
Fat Front.
Fat Bike.
Sheep.
Grypho.
Paradox.
Shitting Dog.
Tandemonium.
And that other bike that doesn't get riden much.
Work Bike
Play Bike
My Blur is called Hilda after my grandmother who left me a small some of money with instructions to treat myself. It was my first "proper" mountain bike and I'll never part with it... Her... Whatever.
Ellsworth epiphany
Kona dr dew
Names FFS...!! 🙄
My Hemlock's black and white and red all over so it's occasionally been Dead Penguin. But if you have to think about it, it's not a proper name, if one comes along and attaches itself then that's fine.
My boss called her bike Magenta because she wanted a bike of that colour but ended up with a black one.
Zinc. Because it's an 'Element 30'
My bike actually has a name from the Factory... Cos it's a Maverick! It was Christened "Medusa" in the factory, and like all Mavericks, has its name engraved onto the headtube badge!

Gibson, the flyin' V 😛
My son wanted a name for his bike (he's 14) which is a cracked and re-welded Commencal Supreme. I picked "Commie Huck".
None of my own bikes have names.
My cars/vans do though, the Merc Vito was called Danny... It made me smile anyway, and the new Transit is called Patsy.
When I first got my P7 I really blinged her up with lovely blue hope bits. However, there's no disguising the usless big lump sitting on top of her. So she's called Victoria, because she's 'All fur coat and nae knickers'.
My Five is called Josephine because she rarely, if ever, get's ridden at night.
Enid is our tandem that my wife and I have spiffing adventures on.
My old O2 was called McCoy, because by the end of every ride you could feel ever one of your bones and finally, I had a Gringo for a wee while and he was called El Guapo.
I love my bikes. 😀
Can't believe I forgot my old broken Five! He was called Johnny.
I have never named a bike, or a car for that metter, it's not as if you can call its name and it will come to you so what's the point.
Gary Glitter.
The ti bike (456)
the big bike (s-works Enduro)
The racer (Allez)
