According to my luggage scales it's just under 31lbs, was a bit over 31 with the old alloy wheels.

Don't know if it is really enduro, but Pyga oneten 29'er, Arch on Hope, tubeless Nic / RR, XT double groupset, Hope M 4's 203/ 180 mm, reverb, XT trail pedals, thomson stem, Kinesis carbon bar is 30.2 lbs on Park Tool scales

Well just got my new Spesh enduro carbon 29er and fitted a renthal carbon fatbar and 50mm stem and mine comes in at 28.6lb

Alpine 160 - CCDB and coil Rc2 up front too.
35lbs.

When I weighed my bike Yesterday it came out at 14.2 kg rather than 13.5 as I stated before, must be selective LCD myopia or something

That's kinda what I thought. They aren't going to to be out by shedloads. Apart from the full sus on page two obvs...

I was a bit concerned that my 3 quid ebay luggage scales might be a bit flaky but i weighed my 5kg kettle bell and it came out at 4.99 kg which I'll take

Some of these weights seem perfectly fine to me to be honest.
The difference in weights of tyre is huge.
Put a SG Magic Mary on a 650b ... 1100g, put a lightweight tubeless Schwalbe on and you might be half that. That a 1lb per tyre.
Then use a fixed seatpost instead of heavy dropper, light'ish wheels and you would easily see 3lbs or more dropping off a bike, going from into the 30's back to the 20's.
So in short, with the right kit for what you want it's do'able without going carbon mental I think.

36lbs according to a set of fishing scales. It climbs very well but is a bit nose heavy.

@honourablegeorge. the Newmad in carbon starts at 2.5kg weight exl shock according to manufacturer. The Ion16 in a M is 3.1 excluding shock weighed by anal individuals. My FG Ion at 675mm TT is 3.4kg with steel hardware (cable guides, boltthru axle, shock mounts excl. shock

Like for like stiffness frames Carbon is typically 25% lighter give or take so smidge over 1lb give or take. Much more weight to be saved in careful or expensive component choices than frames.

13.6kg which is around 29.9lb, I'm not in the weight saving game it just happens to be the set up I chose.

If so, how much does it weigh?

Was intrigued by this thread and about to build a new bike, so checked the calibration on our kitchen scales with a litre of water (pretty much spot on 1kg) and weighed EVERY component as I built.

Orange Alpine 160 26 (Small) with a reasonably 'enduro' build (Slants, Flow EX on Superstar Tesla, Butcher/The Captain, XT brakes, SRAM X9 1x10 with a TRex and XT cranks, Superstar Slider chain device).

Spreadsheet tells me 13.6kg / 29.9lb.

Average overall wieght on my archery scales over 5 weighings comes in around 31lb.

Was expecting 32lb or so, so am happy with that (and happy as I can be that a weight of 30.5lb give or take 1/2lb is real world accurate.

Was the litre of water weighed in a steel box?

Were you at sea level ?

As for weights - my Ion 16 is 29.94 lbs on a new set of Feedback bike scales - and other than having 27.5 wheels amd the debonair being slightly heavier, I can't work out how your bike could be almost the same - either your scales is being unfair to you, or mine are being generous - I'd have expected your frame to be two pounds lighter than mine

Maybe I'll weigh it again, my cheap luggage scales might be short changing me 🙂

It doesn't seem too out of range though, there are other bikes of similar spec that are similar weight? FWIW a few people have weighed the frame, they come out at 5.3lbs minus shock.

I still think I could build mine to ~27lbs if I threw a chunk of money at it, but I might start to jeopardise it's use with borderline inappropriate bits on it, and it doesn't make me go any faster anyway!

Cheers Glasgowdan, even my xc bikes start light then end up heavy as stuff dies. Either way a heavy bike can ride like a light bike if the design is right and damping is set well, in fact the Turner rides lighter than my hard tail but is physically heavier. The weight is only noticeable on short sharp climbs.

well, random update the wifes away so thought id check and see where I was at after going from the stock sram 1x10 to shimano and oneup and some onone carbon bars, by my maths shouldve had me down to 14kg exactly

Almost bought a 153 Kimbers, but was put off by the money it would cost me to get it to a respectable weight!!

Its no heavier than any other am bike I've has, despite having more travel

And I've used it for racing dh and done 50k trail centre rides plus a load of enduros

LB carbon rims on my old hope hubs made the biggest difference to the weight/ feel

Everything else is pretty midrange, slx, zee etc,even the bars were on one sale specials

Making it much lighter would get spendy,

Since my last post I now have a new 'enduro' bike, An orbea Rallon in size medium , it weighs 13.6kg (29.92lb) complete with pedals.

That said I have Lakes proof wheels on (Mavic 521's) with Maxxis EXO Minions so maybe that's it?

Only asking because I would love an ION 16 but a bit concerned it would be even heavier than my Helius but if you can get them to that sort of weight it deinitely looks good.

Standard build (xx1/pikes/Roam40/reverb) with XT trail pedals.

Whyte claim 13kg but that's excluding pedals, so my weight is inline with claimed. Makes a pleasant difference to other wild estimates from manufacturers.

Zee cranks, pikes, zee brakes and 203mm icetech discs, renthal cockpit, 1x10 with slx stuff. Saint pedals. Specialized dropper with charge spoon. Flow ex with 2.5 exo minion DHF and 2.3 exo HR2. Not a light build but i didn't build it to go uphill.

My whyte G150 works is 31.6 lbs in a size large, I could put silly money carbon rims on but rather loose a bit of wheight myself and I would still be allowed to sleep in the house. Most of my riding mates have carbon bikes which may be a bit lighter but then mines never snapped/cracked unlike some of there's, they may be a bit faster at climbing than me but not downhill. I know which I prefer.

never weighed a bike before but gonna be starting a new build soon so am interested to weigh it as stock then again with my upgrades/changes and compare to my old bike too

In all serious, it doesn't matter, just take 0.xx (where x is a random number) away from 30lb and then swear blind the scales are accurate.

Getting a Nicolai Ion down to 31lb even with a CCDB air is doable, with good strong components even without carbon wheels (my dt240 with flows weigh 1700g) and proper tyres.

But getting one down to 28.5lb - I just can't see the 2.5lb difference.

ive had digital luggage scales before and theyve never lasted very long. theres a whole host of them on ebay and amazon for around a fiver but reading reviews they dont seem very accurate.

this one looks good value tho??

Bathroom scales, (me+bike)-(me) is 31.5 to 32lb. Display wouldn't settle).

I reckon you'd have to really, really try to get one of these down close to 30lb never mind under 30lb.

Still rides well, up and down, works for me. I'd rather lose 2lb or more off the 190lb lump in the saddle.

My Chromag my AM 29er hardtail is 31lbs with Pikes, flows, Chromag finishing kit, SLX/XT, proper 2.5/2.4 Maxxis tyres, reverb.

My HT is 28lbs with fairly light Revs (1700g), light-ish Pacenti rims, no dropper, Renthals etc etc....some extremely optimistic weights being thrown around in this thread!
