Noticed a few weeks ago the skewer was bent in my rear wheel, Mavic Crossmax ST. Riding yesterday I found when I braked I was getting a really inconsistent purchase when I braked, felt very unsettling sort of on off on off. Have had a look, seems like the wheel rim is a bit warped but not massively, spokes feel ok. Does it sound like the hub has gone?

And now I have changed the wheel, same thing.....must be thre frame? Ti hardtail.

Did you change the disc as well? Might be a warped rotor,

and why wouldn'T it be the brake?
i'm assuming you are using V-brakes.... try a new cable. or take it in to LBS tomorrow...
