My brakes starting making some strange rubbing noises, both front and back. Hard to decribe, but not the usual wet brake squel, I guess more of the noice when you clean glass if that makes sense?!
Anyway - applied some muck off brake cleaner and for a mile or 2 they were all back to normal, but then the front one started up again. Its not super loud, but quite annoying!
Done this 2 or 3 times now. Brake cleaner works, but not for long.
Likely cause? Pads contaiminated or something?
If they judder and make a horrible squawking noise as the bike rolls to a stop they are contaminated with oil or brake fluid. Take them out, file small nicks in the backing to identify them and put them in the dishwasher. There's nothing hotter or more caustic for degreasing. Obviously, clean the discs as well with alcohol or glass cleaner or very hot water with detergent.
