I have been trying to buy this of a nice chap but feel £900 is over priced, especially considering I only really want the frame. what do you reckon it's worth, the bike is in great condition.
Cotic Simple
Hope Pro2 Trials rear hub
Hope Headset
Hope XC front hub
Mavic XC717 rims
Panaracer Fire XC Pro tyres
Rockshox recon Air forks (lockout and motion control)
Deore Cranks and BB
Raceface Evolve AM stem
Raceface Evolve XC Seatpost
Shimano SLX brakes with Ashima Air rotors
Scott saddle
No name grips
Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Somebody might think this worth it, you don't.
I agree with you though, over priced.
Okay thanks I'll stick to my price.
does seem a little steep. what do YOU think its worth?
I found this on ebay yesterday and really like the look of it but have the same reservations. It's gutting when you have to take a hit on the value of your new sh kit. He's dropped the reserve on ebay and is on a second attempt auction so we shall see.
Comparison (kinda). I paid £900 for this a few years back, all in excellent condition and/or new parts:
Cotic Soul
All Mountain3 forks
Hope/Mavic 717 wheelset/Fire XCs
Saint brakes
XT/X9 running gear
Thomson post and stem
Easton bars
The Simple does sound nice and remember its a £450 frame but stuff like the Deore cranks and Recon forks do kinda give it a lower rent image.
That's what i thought but didn't want to say. Put some Thomson, Easton and XT and it would have shifted for sure.
Lets break it down -
Cotic Simple - £420-ish?
Hope Pro2 Trials rear hub
Hope Headset £60
Hope XC front hub
Mavic XC717 rims - £260 wheels and tyres
Panaracer Fire XC Pro tyres
Rockshox recon Air forks (lockout and motion control) - £250
Deore Cranks and BB - £50
Raceface Evolve AM stem - £30
Raceface Evolve XC Seatpost - £30
Shimano SLX brakes with Ashima Air rotors £150-ish
Scott saddle - £10
No name grips
Is a total of abouy £1260. Let's say £1300.
If it's under a year old, I'd say 60% of the new price (Older = Cheaper)
as it's a nice frame that's in demand.
So around £750.
£700 I'd say, £750 tops.
Take away the frame and there's not much left that's worth a lot.

I bid £760 and did feel that was pushing it selling the kit on afterwards I need to sell it at a price that makes the frame £300, don't think I'll bother bidding this time.
