So I've identified all the parts in the bag of mystery bits that comes with a retail Reverb, apart from this:

So collective wisdom, what is this for?

its part of the clamp

I think it sits in the clamp opening to fill the gap.
Didn't get one with mine.

Optional part of the clamp. In theory it makes it less likely that you'll over tighten the clamp and wreck your bars, but I found it made it harder to get the clamp to sit nice and tight against my Hope brakes, so left it out and I'm not dead yet.

Hm, I'll have a look later then. Certainly didn't need it to clamp the remote onto my bars!
