The below came with a Rock Shox Reverb, but what's the black thing on the left above the cable ties?

Replaces the matchmaker clamp thing On the bar lever.

Is it not for mounting it alongside a sram shifter? In the style of those hope mounts.

Prevents over-tightening of the lever clamp, according to the manual, and makes it look cleaner.
