I've heard stuff about trail sanitisation and some bits are not worth doing. Can anyone help advise?
I get the feeling I should be starting in Staveley due to better parking etc?

Must be meaning Gatescarth pass, up graded a few years ago, as a descent pretty average now, fashionable to go over Harter fell and miss the hike up to nan bield, real men do the carry.
