[Closed] What's like a Mk1 Crud Guard?

I was trying to come up with a better mudguard than the bit of bent plastic sticking out the back of the saddle on my dropper-equipped hardtail when I realised that a Mk1 Crud Guard is what I want (the very early one with two aluminium stays, and a screw to the seatstay bridge).

In the world of constant reinvention, I'm surprised I can't find something along the same lines being made, but my Googling is drawing a blank. eBay has some NOS examples of the genuine article, but a bit more, er, vibrant in colour than I was hoping for.

Anyone seen anything along those lines?

Mudhugger's a good shout, from what I can see closest to what I actually want on the market.

Zip-tying something that size to the frame offends me, though; especially when I have mounts that would be ideal for something properly bolted on ;-).

Wanted post on Retrobike can't hurt, as long as the rubber bits haven't perished by now...

I was skimming through an old mid 90s route guide a few days ago- mbr high peak trail I think. It was all rigid, cantis and mk 1 crudguards. I never had one, went straight for mark 2, in fact did an emergency hacksaw mod to one last week to fit to my lad’s fs as he was riding it in the wet for a change. Worked ok.

We have a bike with the original in the garage.

That wasn’t a stealth ad though.
