Multitool, cafe lock. Survival blanket (it was spare), waterproof jacket.

Shirt, underwear, keys, money and cards, work mobile.

Enough food to keep a platoon going for a week.

There's a strange curiosity about what other people have in their bags.

If anyone wants to take pictures that would be even better. You can even add them here.

She has to carry it on her back at times - logic to me would be to have a good purge and make the damn bag lighter!

Normally all in an Ortlieb back roller:
Small Camelback: tools/innertubes/danger cash
Plastic bag 1: Wallet, glasses, headphones.
Plastic bag 2: Packed lunch
Plastic bag 3: Shirt, undercrackers and socks
Plastic bag 4: D Lock + spare lights.
Waterproof Bontrager jacket.

Maybe I carry a little too much. Maybe the camelback needs changing for a plaggy bag to be consistent.

Tonight I have an extra back roller to carry 1 bottle of MacAllan Gold and several pork pies for Whiskey club. Nom nom slurp 😀 .

I tend to leave food, supplies, clothes and locks at office to minimise what I need to carry, so at the moment my bag just contains:

Fresh grundies and socks. (t-shirt, jeans + shoes left at office)
Endura Helium jacket (in case of rain)
Cateye light and spare batteries (not dark this time of year, but it might be foggy)
Tyre levers
Lezyne Tech Drive HP pump
One spare tube
Park Tool Super patches (in case of two punctures or to help out others)
An old skool Alien multitool with chain tool on it
Emergency tenner
Couple of SRAM PowerLock links (in case of broken chain)
Phone (usually running Endomondo to record route)
Asthma inhaler (wheeeze!)
Few zip ties and bit of bodge tape

Do any of you need to take shirts to work everyday, as i have said before i work in aldi and work hard (not say you dont) but with this territory comes a bit of perspiration i get 1 day out of a shirt even if its cold due to the nature of supermarkets, food spills cleaning products etc.

I always find my shirt a bit creased and looking a bit rubbish by the time I get there.

what good timing this post is....
i'm taking a month off from any riding due to Ramadan so last night i went through my camelback to see what was in it...
this is what i found
[img] [/img]
along with a small bag containing...
[img] [/img]

on top of all this i have my shirt, underwear and socks (rest of the stuff stays at work), my office keys and works ID, house keys, work USB stick, phone charger/USB cable, wallet, bottle of water/juice and food

why i carry all this crap around, i dont know, especially seeing as i dont need most of it for a 7 mile commute...i think its time for a bit of a clearout

Now that's a lot of gear Gonzy.
A few observations:
I have that little spanner/bottle opener, mbuk freebie was it?
Good job you carry a shock pump coz when that blackburn one fails you'll need it and TBF it probably shifts the same volume as my spare pump (microrocket*) 😉
How many levers?
Posh dust caps on your spare tubes?

Can you come riding with us? Looks like I'd never have to bring my camelbak or indeed do any preventative maintenance at home as you cart an entire workshop around 🙂

*after my blackburn experience I carried 2 pumps around for a while until I realised proper pumps don't just suddenly give up for no reason in the middle of nowhere.

No bag for me usually. Tool bottle:
- Spare tube
- Pump
- Park patches
- Tyre levers
- Multi tool
- 15mm spanner (alfine)
- Chain breaker

Jersey pocket:
- Keys
- Phone
- Emergency £10
- Security pass for work

Bike lock is left at work
Food and clothes are kept at work, any restocking is either done on a driving day or with an Ortlieb backroller.

How often do you need to replace a bottom bracket in the middle of a 7 mile commute?!

My bag contains mostly socks, there's a pump in there and lots of decaying AAA batteries. Mostly socks though.

to be fair i do carry a fair amount of kit around and thats because in the past i used to work as a mountain bike leader for Lancashire County Council.
during that time the number of poorly maintained bikes that kids used to bring along on rides was unbelievable as was the rate of failure and it was always up to me to carry out the trailside fixes to get them up and running again.
half the tools i carry arent even to fix my own bike but to make sure the other bikes keep going

i carry a lot of lever as i have a habit of losing them. the allen keys have simply accumulated over time, i carry lots of patches as i used to suffera lot of punctures on my commute due to the crap but fast semi slicks i had on my old hardtail.
the blackburn pump is now 10 years old and still working perfectly
the bb tool was only there as i took it along to fit a bb for a friend before a ride and i've not got round to putting it back in the toolbox

@Rscott - I always find my shirt a bit creased and looking a bit rubbish by the time I get there

Just take a week's worth in and hang them up on the sale rack marked £30 each. No-one will touch them!

I always find my shirt a bit creased and looking a bit rubbish by the time I get there.

i find that the best way to bring a shirt in every day is to button iit up and then fold it neatly. then get one of those small Next carrier bags and slide it into the bag. if the shirt is folded correctly it will slide into the bag perfectly and then slide your boxers under the shirt and stick the socks in the collar space. the bag should then fold over and can be slid into a rucksack.
when you get it out the shirt should still remain crease free with the only visible creases being from the folding process. it gives you that "just got the shirt out of the packet" look.
judging by the amount of crap i seem to carry in my bag, i've never had a crumpled shirt in the 3 years i've been commuting
