I've not been there for about a year and its totally unrecognisable!
All the old trails have been totally destroyed as it seems the forestry commission are doing some massive works...
What gives?
Are they trying to make the trails safe for WCA?
Have they trashed more in the last week? I was out last Sunday and while there was a lot of work it seemed to have relatively little impact on where I normally ride.
Its a cyclic thing unfortunately, every few years they come in and do a bit of harvesting and thinning. A few trails did get "reorganised" by the bad winter as well - both fallen trees and water damage.
Previously its been much worse than what I saw last weekend but there was some machinery parked ominously close to some trails ...
The old freeride area is pretty much gone.
The motorway section is still there though thank god.
I've come to the view the FC are doing it on purpose... Yep Freemasons trail has been trashed, track down to tanners brook (redundancy?) has been trashed by storms and tree fall. The rest however is still there, bit overgrown but riding well, pretty much mud free!
