For off-road use, on the bike, not the helmet

Plenty, what your budget, preference (cheap chinese, quality chinese, handmade by British virgins), and how long will you need it to last? (ride length wise).. Do you want pure max output, stupidly silly output or a a candle like flicker that more than enough for real men! All in one unit or is having a battery pack fine

(little bit of micky taking but all options are available)

Did you sell your liberator? As their still brilliant light, newer version has more output & spider eyes is apparently just silly ๐Ÿ˜ฏ . Same(ish) kind of money will buy you a rather lovely Gloworm X2 or X3 depending on how much light you want, currently playing with the X2 and it's a lovely bit of kit. Four4th lights are well reviewed too.

Better quailty chinese unit with good support are available from MTB Batteries and the likes of Bikeray

I have the current MaxxD and can't fault it. Combined with a joystick on the lid.

I have one of these and it's great on the bar.

Particularly good for battery life...

MTB Batteries Lumenator

I've had cheap Chinese lights and expensive UK lights and this beats both tbh.

Just as an aside, why do almost all lights have a 'strobe' mode? Can't imagine ever using it...

Genuine question.

For commuting U_R, not that I'd ever think of using one of these light full power on strobe is a good thing. Though going from other threads, ppl disagree and use them as such... bizarre

I'm still using Magicshine MJ-872s- brilliant beam pattern, good power and lifespan, and well made. Tried to replace it with a newer brighter light this year but it turns out, I hadn't really appreciated just how good the beam shape was until I tried something else.
