[#11830446]

I'm looking to find a decent combination of 27.5 tyres - 2.8 front and 2.6 rear for a drop bar off road bike.
Herself is riding 27.5 2.8 WTB Rangers and apart from in slimy mud she likes them but I don't want to appear too his'n'hers all the time.
I'm looking at Terravail Kennebec 2.8 front and errrr something max 2.6 on the back.
Any suggestions please?

Teravail ehline (though 2.5 not 2.6)? I’m waiting to put a set of Coronado’s on my 29+ bike which I’m looking forward to as they look nice and quick.

I've got a 2.6 rekon on the rear of my hardtail, seems to roll pretty quickly and still be grippy. I know you can find them in 2.8 aswell.

Michelin Force seems good to me so far. It's not super mega fast but it's got really good grip, for the drag, and a sturdier sidewall than most 2.8s. Michelin seem to work hard to make their range hard to understand though

@tuboflard thanks for that suggestion, that could work well. I used 29/2.2 Sparwood on TuscanyTrail'16 with success so a bigger volume tyre with a bit more bite sounds like the job!

@northwind - I'll have a look thanks. I'm hugely out of date on tyres though, and tbh if it's made too complicated I'll move on elsewhere.

Just putting some Schwalbe allrounds on my longitude for the summer. 27.5 in 2.8” size. Front on after a trip to the workshop to use the compressor yesterday, bound to rain as soon as the rear one goes on tomorrow!

Wife runs a 27.5x2.6 conti cross king on her bike.
Cross kings are fast in normal sizes so pretty sure the same applies to the 2.6

Bonty XR3/4's? Light (quite thin side walls though), roll well and grippy.

I've played around with quite a few 3.0 29er tyres and struggle to see beyond WTB Rangers. Hence we're Mr and Mrs with tyres (albeit she's on 2.8 27.5s).

Just remembered (honestly!) got a couple of new 27.5 x 2.6 XR4's for sale if you're interested?

I'd sat Bonty's they always feel quick in the 29er flavour and Rangers considerably quicker than Coronado's which are the druggist horror show's I've ever ridden in 29 plus.
