We haven't had such a good summer here, so any good weather days have to be grabbed and used, so at 4.00p.m. I downed tools and rode locally.

Found some short, not to steep, sweet singletrack the other day through the local woods while out walking, so the chance came up to ride it. It left a big grin on my face all the way home.

Did a 20 odd mile ride with 2 friends from work.
Up around and over Cleeve common above Cheltenham and then some cheeky trails through Dowdswell woods! 😀

Today we provided Bikeability training to 18 delightful yr 5 children in North Northumberland..
Why is it that some boys just cannot resist lifting the front wheel over every crack/hole in the road...
Sun, fresh air and enthusiasm for being outon their bikes.. all in all a great day..
Did I mention we get paid too?

Just commuting, since my motorbike's off the road. 4 days commuting + an offroad night ride = legs like rubber. But just off to the garage to fanny around with the mmmbop and fix the wheel for the rigid.

Fixing a couple of the kids bikes on my estate, while not fixing my Sram X9 shifting problems, and I'm riding tomorrow. 🙄 just have to put up with a jamming shifter.

Quick 7 mile road ride. Was going to do more but felt nackered and wasn't enjoying it enough. Then I rode around on my mtb for a bit trying to decide which stem length to go with. Keeping 50mm for now but will probably go up to 60 soon to give me a bit extra room.

Went to Bedgebury mtb park in Kent with a mate. Spanked the red runs and even managed a 'black' run - it was light grey to be honest but, hey, I'm not telling anyone 🙂

Then 15 miles back in seriously heavy rain. Very, very muddy when I got home.

Moved it against a different wall and stared at the flat tyre wondering what the demon of slow punctures has done to my new tyre/tube combo.

In horrible shape at the moment and doing the Cat & Fiddle ride from Stoke on Sunday. Did a steady 20-25 miles on the road with a few quick bursts on the way home.

Dropped car off at garage road home 13 miles on horrid road bike. Nice route and nice to be out

But this took nearly an hour and I found it hard work so I'm not fit. Action required but we are about to loose the light

Moved MTB to shop as back brake lever going all the way to the bar without any resistance.

Moved road bike to different shop (from whence it came) as noticed crack in the seat tube.

Watched loads of people out on MTBs & road bikes between Rochdale & Bury while doing this.

Got phoned by bro as have just part paid (with parents) for complete overhaul of his bike for his birthday - very pleased until back tyre sidewall gave way.

Not having a good one, all in.

Andy

...and just now, while moving stuff around in the garage, knocked over my big crowbar and it fell in a perfect arc to slice the front tyre on my hemlock right down the side. Arse.

I was out on my bmx again...I did a big one hander over the hip at camden bowl! Shortly followed a rather harsh flat landing from about 6 feet up!

I've had a good day, collected my new dh frame at lunchtime, built it up this afternoon and rode my new xc bike after that. Sorted out all the bits I've got for sale and got them photo'd.

Hoping to ride the dh tomorrow now it's finished.

Offered up a 29er wheel to a meta 5.5.2 frame so see how much would need cutting out to make it fit 😯

considered a 4" travel Meta 69er instead

decided to have a word with myself and Enjoy the scandal

Put my lights on charge!

Built 2 BMX's, sold 2 16" boys bikes, serviced a 20" kids bike, fitted an Answer direct mount stem and 780 bars, and moved about 35 bikes from where they were before, to where they are now.

Brilliant day...

My only day off this week and a busy non-biking weekend ahead so braved the rain to go check out some steep woods about half an hour away that I've not ridden before. A bit of exploring, got soaked to the skin and ripped the arse out of my waterproof shorts on my saddle (a replacement for which should have turned up by now). End result, a couple of amazing steep, rooty, rocky evil trails added to the collection. Jobs a goodun.

Just a 9km ride to try out the rebuild of the old winter bike in the rain. Bike seems good, my fitness has vanished must ride more once I get back from the USA. Wife and baby permitting.
