My current winter gloves are fairly old and the velcro is a bit rubbish so I'll probably stretch to a new pair this winter. They are also a bit chunky and I would like something thinner but reasonably warm if possible.

The bulk also makes it a pain to pull a jacket over the cuffs to stop the breeze getting in there.

Any recommendations? I'd be using them for commuting through the winter and also cyclocross racing and MTB and road rides.

I know it's only August, but just planning in advance here, as there is nothing worse than chilly fingers n toes all winter!

I have two pairs of these and really like them, not too bilky and not too hot either..

seem to keep the water out for a decent amount of time and easy to get on and off, good cuffs etc..

Fox Antifreeze are incredibly warm, without being too bulky (the only gloves I've ever used that are warmer, are motorbike and snowboard gloves). Mine are falling apart now but they've had a lot of use over 2 winters- could have been better, but acceptable I reckon.

get some winter gloves when you can from aldi, then have a shell over glove. i have a pair of patagonia mountain gloves; basic nylon. they keep the wind off, yet act as a thin insulation.

an idea may be three gloves; a very thin silk like pair, then a fuller one, then a thin windproof one!

i have ridden through many winters and still experimenting.

do not ride in latex gloves, under bigger gloves; the swear freezess

whatever you wear your little fingers will still hurt!
