And more durable.

Durable enough for me - no point in me paying a weight penalty for all the biffers out there 🙂

I caressed this frame to death before the parts started landing. I always knew Nicolai built nice frames but I never wanted one until these things happened.

we worked out in my riding group there have now been in total 7 sets of broken raceface carbon cranks ranging from Sixc to NextR.

i got my money back on the last set.

Hightower Frame for me, just beautifully built.  I just sat looking at it for about 2 hours

The Suntour Auron RC2 was a real wow moment. Wasn't expecting it to make a Pike feel a bit cheap! Properly nice fork.

More recently I bought a Pro Tharsis trail bar and stem which have a combined weight of  300g and are just nicely understated, quality items.

My Ultegra Di2 group-set impressed me as soon as it was fitted.

My Hightower because I got to demo one and it was the most perfect bike for me I've ridden so far.

Then the SC Reserve wheels made it even better.

Then the Hope E4 brakes made it even betterer!

DMR Tensionseeker II.  Its 'new' old stock.

Compared to the cheap nasty sprung tensioners its a tiny bit of proper engineering.  However, the inner bolt is now stuck in the outer bolt, and the spring doesn't have much range so doesn't work on my full susser!

So I've just put the wobbly wonky old tensioner back on the bike.

Not for me...

Went into the LBS with the Missus and one of the guys said “Come to pick up the new bike”. MrsG then kicked off “another bike!!”. “I’ve told you one-in one-out”. “Really do you need another”.etc.....

i sheepishly took her over to the new bike. “This, but small for you isn’t it?”. “What do you mean it’s not for you!”. “Mine?”.

Then it was “Wow” she loves her new special order small Orange 4 with Sram Eagle12.

Mucho brownie points for me!

The re tuning on the shim stack that Paul from Geometron Bikes did for me on  my Fox36 was my biggest wow.

Pics of it would look a bit shit though...

Ha! I just converted my 26er ex-singlespeed mtb to 1x11 after 15 years of riding it as is. I got a sunrace 11-42 cassette....it was a bit like that bit in Jaws-"we're gonna need a bigger boat".

We had a campagnolo EPS system delivered to the shop for a bike build in the week. It really was a thing of beauty, however the thing that made me go WOW was the fact that for your £2.5k you don't get a mount for the battery unit which effectively makes the groupset useless. 🙄

A pair of Conti Top Contact 2 folders.

Proper tough touring tyres, feel like they'd be fine on a G Wagon. Overbuilt German Quality.

Shame they roll like a brick.

Fortunately, they were for my wife's bike, so it wasn't all bad.
