For 2012 singletrack riding. After a few years out, I might dig the mtb out and go for a spin. 2.3's seem a little excessive though...
Has anything else changed? Are Pikes still the best all rounders?
I still have Pikes on both my main bikes. You cannot buy them anymore, I think they reincarnated into the slightly lighter Revelation. More people are Fox fans these days I think.
As for tyres, 2.3 means more grip and comfort but slower speed on the flats and roads. But not all 2.3's are created equally!
Fox always used to leak oil. Fashions eh.
I have a Blue Groove / Nevegal combo. It was all the rage back in 2007.
next year I'll be running a 2.2 combo of the new bontrager xr4 (front) and bontrager xr1 (rear). not sure how they'll do since they're new, but I like the idea of a aggressive front/fast rear combo.
