On my fs it's Conti Mountain Kings 2.4 width 650b with black chilli compound.

On the hardtail it's the cheapest Schwalbe Black Jacks they make. Fine on the road, awful if you show them a root or rock that is damp.

9/10 Butcher grid on front.
For rear, HR2, Purg grid, Slaughter grid, Vee Crown F. As long as the rear is tough and not too draggy.

Depends on the conditions. Most of the read a slaughter on the rear with either a bonty XR4, HR2 2.4 or a baron 2.4 BC on the front. Got a HR2 on the rear at the mo, good in everything bar slop.

Those using Butcher up front, do you find them draggy ? I used to use Purgatory front and rear on my soul for a few years and swopped to butcher on front this summer. Loads of grip but mighty slow for general xc stuff IMO.

sticky german rubber queens on the solo in 2,2 flavour. the tandem gets swapped around depending what we are doing. 2.4 sticky german rubber queen front / 2.2 non sticky rear for trail centres, larsens for all round riding, hi rollers for out in the wilds / wet, larsen / high roller are dual ply rear. Crossroads for touring

650b FS: Hans Dampf 2.35 / Rock Razor 2.35
29er HT: Xking 2.2 F/R
B+ rigid SS: Trailblazer 2.8 F/R

I feel totally out of place amongst everyone else posting gnartastic tyres.

On my Enduro Sled, i run a Vertstar Magic Mary on the front, and Trailstar Hans Dampf on the back.

Prefers going downhill......

Ive got a Magic Mary on the front of my 29er Anthem, but still have a racing Ralph on the back, which seems to work so far. I tend to head for the firmer/drier uphill trails in winter. Will check out the Hans Dampf though as two of you have mentioned it with a front MM.
