Have had several pairs of Giro Xens over the years, like them but the mesh sides to the fingers go after a while.
Looks like Giro may have changed them but in any case they’re not showing up on the UK site.
Any recommended alternatives? Don’t want anything too downhill-y.
I've always liked Troy Lee XC
Endura Singletrack are rather nice.
I've yet to have a pair of gloves that haven't fallen apart or the velcro stopping working.
Another Troy Lee XC fan here. Light, comfy, look decent too.

Last endura gloves I bought were 35 quid and fell to bits.
TLXC only downside is Velcro, I bloody hate the stuff, there's absolutely no need for it on gloves.
Madison Flux are my new favourites.
On the bulkier side though.
Troy Lee Ace were my faves but I lost them, they are the perfect summer glove IMO.
Not endura humvee lites. Brand new, 4 miles usage at best (on the nursery run so no gnarr) and they are already wearing! Will be returning those.
Fox Rangers are great. Not downhill-y. Come in padded and un-padded varieties. Great fit (for me anyway) and not made of cheese. Bought some after recommendations on here.
Madison Roams are similar, ever so slightly worse fit, but bit cheaper. £20 on Freewheel website (clunky). No idea on their longevity though as I've only just bought some.
So, Fox Rangers then. 🙂

Just bought another pair of fox rangers as my original pair are starting to wear (small hole in the side of one finger, seam coming away slightly) - that's with 2 years of use.
I have an older 100% iTrack which I really like, it's like a thin Brisker, new ones are thinner backed.
Another vote for Troy Lee XC's. God knows how many pairs I've had over the years. I always seem to lose them, or one of them, before they wear out.
661 Raji's are great for the summer. Really light, but hard-wearing, with the vented material on the back of the gloves
I really like Fox Rangers, they don't last forever (i usually replace after around 6 months) but you can ofter pick them up for £15/20 if you have a good look around.
I'm loving the muc off ones at the minute (got a spare pair in xl and medium #stealthad at £20 posted a pair)
I’m about to send back some Endura Humvee Plus gloves for warranty that I only bought in June. Ridden in them maybe 5 times before they’ve split across the back of the thumb.
Fox Dirtpaws I had before had done a couple of years before splitting on the finger - I’ve had to sew them back together for now until I sort these Enduras out. Tbh I’d like a refund and I’ll try some 100% gloves as I like my briskers and they haven’t disintegrated.
I use Fox Ranger, Endura, and Madison Flux. All pretty much equally excellent, although the Enduras are my favourites.

Another to consider is Giro DND. all the best features of TLXC but without the velcro.
Probably not very fashionable, but I've always found Specialized gloves well fitting & last well.
Endura seem to last me pretty well too & fit well.
As with shoes & helmets, gloves are something that you just have to try until you find a brand that suits your shape.
I had some Troy Lee gloves before & while I'm medium in Specialized, Endura & 661 gloves the Small Troy Lee gloves were too large. I also had some Sombrio gloves that fitted my hand, but the fingers were comically too long.
Endura very comfy, but they do seem to fall apart quickly.
I bought some 100% lightweight gloves from CRC for £8 at the beginning of lockdown (ladies XXL same size as mens L).
They've been great, and seem to be lasting very well so far.

Seems to be the way with Endura products, you never know what size they'll be, and you never know if you'l get a good one or a bad one.
