I'm after something for colder, dry(ish) days. Ideally just to wear over a long sleeve base layer, possibly with a technical tee, but I run quite warm.

I was thinking light softshell or windproof shell, full zip, preferably with removable sleeves. Hood seems pointless really? Really want a decent bike specific cut with longer tail.

Thoughts?

A wind proof Gillet and some arm warmers.
Gore ones are ace.

I have a Ground Effect Baked Alaska which ticks all your boxes. Not cheap now but all my Ground Effect stuff has proved very hard wearing unlike the Endura stuff I've had.

Only worn mine a handful of times but I've used it when it's been cool and that horrible misty/rain stuff as well as when it's down to ~2° and windy but dry with just a base layer underneath and it's been fine. Admittedly I've once had to use my homemade gilet (cheap skinny fleece with arms cut off and back of collar trimmed down) as well when I started getting tired and cold but it's been great, especially for the price.

Polaris Enduro jacket. Doesn't have the removable sleeves but otherwise excellent and what I'm wearing unless it's exceedingly cold and/or wet.

I ordered one of these Vulpine Jackets in their sale. it hasn't come yet, but with 10% off with the code WELCOME10 and some good reviews it might be worth a go.

I think this Gore alp xdoes everything you've asked for and a great price at the mo. I have one, they're very good, but maybe size up from your usual, they're pretty slim fitting.

Road or off road?

For the former I wear a thicker LS jersey and a gilet in the main. Sometimes a windproof jersey or a softshell jacket

Off road I tend to wear non-MTB cut softshell jackets and base layers

I just got one of these in Evans and it's lovely, comfy, warm without being too hot.

Beware though the orange does retain dirt after washing... which doesn't bother me... but may some people.

I ordered this yesterday. At half price (for the red) plus another £10 off with "SaveWiggle" code, it was too cheap to turn down.

How 'colder day' are you talking?

That's an important detail
