I'm servicing a child's bike with an old fashioned cup and cone bottom bracket. The fixed side has recessed 6 point star slots - like a giant torx bolt. I cannot find a tool to fit. I tried the Park Tool website but nothing obvious.
I tried using a flat steel bar which fitted nicely, but the ends snapped off. It's a steel cup in an aluminium frame so seized in.
Any idea what it's called or where to get a tool from?

Pipe wrench and a new bottom bracket
It's not the Campy one, I think their splines are in the outside of the cup rather than inside.

I don't need to replace it, I'm just curious what tool it is. As it's a child's bike it has an additional lock ring on the drive side to hold a plastic chain guard on.
*Edit, which seem to be a pain to get hold of it it ever did need replacing.
Is it a lock ring? In which case a Park Tool
HCW-5 spanner would work. Fits into 3 of the 6 slots
Not a lock ring, a recessed socket so need something with splines

Ridgeback, the manufacturer got back to me. Apparently it's a random BB. They stopped using it because of the headache of not having a tool for it.
I'll fabricate something if I ever need to remove it completely.
If you remove the lockring it should relieve the tension and allow you to remove the fixed cup with molegrips or similar?

If its 6 or 8 little holes equally spaced on the bb cup around the axle, there is a tool for that, I would call it a peg spanner.

You can usually tap the left side off with a screwdriver and hammer. Once the axle is out put a big nut and bolt (around m14) through the axle hole and tighten it up with a big spanner. It should lock onto the fixed cup, keep tightening and this should loosen the cup as it has a left hand thread.
