My SC Blur LT got nicked a few weeks ago so now deciding what to replace it with. As it was nicked along with an old Mongoose Teocali, I've got a much larger budget to play with and replacing them with one bike using the combined insurance settlements.
I loved the Blur, perfect mix for climbing, trail and descending for me. Spend most of my time at Cathkin Braes as I can cycle there from my house, however, same bike was used last year for a downhill endurance event at Glencoe and 10 Under The Ben as well as my regular Glentress Black route trips and to other places like Drumlanrig and Kirroughtree.... So the new one needs to be equally diverse. Short list consists of another Blur LT (whilst they are still available...) a Solo, or a Bronson.
Going to demo the Solo and the Bronson but just wondered what the thoughts are of those of you already with either of them? Will the Bronson be too much bike? Will the Solo be enough? My gut feel is that the Solo would be great 90% of the time, but would I miss that wee bit extra travel I had with the Blur? (I had Fox 36 Talas 180 FiT RC2 forks, which if I got the Bronson would buy again, but on the solo I'd go for 34 Talas 160 FIT RC2s.....).
Any help much appreciated.
Bump....
There's shit loads of bikes available, why limit yourself to Santa Cruz?
Well I'm asking for help afterall so what do you suggest I should be looking at? Haven't got much experience of other bikes so when I found one that I liked (my blur) I stopped looking around. Have young kids so spare time is (was) riding time so not got a great deal of knowledge of what's available.....
In true stw form of recommend what you've got I would add Transition Covert, will it go well with 180's not sure ? Also not available as a complete bike if that matters. As your Blur was great for you that's a powerful argument for buying the same again.
New Kona Process?
