Just dreaming again - but what steel 29er frame would you recommend?
Looking at something like a Cotic Solaris - but what else is out there...

I've had a Solaris for 2 years but I've been looking at BTR's Chaser XC lately. Twice the price, though :(.

Got me a Fire Eye Hot Tail 29, just finished building last month and have been testing it on different stuff I usually ride on my process. Super capable.

Haven't got any good photos of it at the moment that I can upload.

Solaris. Just awesome. plenty of flexibility to adjust when bored with plus 650 wheels or rigid fork. Current rocking 29x3 at front and 29x2.4 rear. lots of fun.

This being STW, its traditional to recommend what you've got yourself. So:

El Mariachi.

Chromag Rootdown or Rootdown BA (the BA is new longer lower slackerer version).

i wanted a Solaris, i still do.

but my salary said no, so i bought a Genesis High Latitude. it's great. and much more capable of being abused, and encouraging abuse, than you might think.

I would have got a Solaris....but it was'nt ss'able. So I got an El Mariachi instead which is ace.It could be more ace (likkle bit lower, slacker, longerer) but it gives me an excuse to lust after a Shand.

I have a Solaris and an older 18" El Mariachi - I like both in different ways but my ultimate bike would combine both I think...
