Am building up a real budget bike, and have some square taper chainset's on CRC very cheap, but how do I know what width BB I am after?
Its a new aluminum frame (Carrera) are they not all the same BB shell?
I got some UN26's for £5.50. They seem to last ages
A where from, thats cheap..
B how do I know what size to order?

The shell is most probably 68mm (there were a few 73mm around at one time) but axle widths vary according to the chainset.
Ransos, OK I see now, looking at the bumf on CRC its a 113 recomended BB for this particular chainset, so I can measure the shell width/or dia later to be sure if its a 68mm OR 73mm and I should be able to order it all tomorrow.
Unless someone can say for sure on the BB width or dia is 68mm on an alloy Carrera frame?
I know the BB I removed from a 2006ish Carrera Kracken ali xc frame was 68mm.

OK, got it sussed now, measured it and its a 68mm, I wasnt sure if that dimension was a diameter or width of the BB shell, but it was obvious really!!
