[#9863236]

So I have a huge birthday in June and thought maybe I should treat myself to a new frame. SS specific, 29er (poss 29+), track ends or poss Paragon sliders (def no EBBs), steel. I can't think of an off the peg frame I haven't had, so was thinking custom. I really liked one from a builder in the States but with freight and tax I think that'll be a non starter. Any suggestion???

Well what off-the-peg frames have you had?

I've always fancied an EBB, are they a nightmare?

Is that Black Sheep frame still for sale that has been in the classifieds?

May be worth contacting Taz Wadie on One Cog Cycling FB page, he has had a variety of singlespeed exotica?

With regards to EBB being a nightmate, depends on the BB, some like the one on my Charge is terrible, one on my Stooge is ace...

How do the brake mounts work on the btr-fabrication frame?

I thought that horizontal dropout frames had brake mounts that move, to allow alignment with the wheel position?

Taz, Was....

I'll look into BTR, not heard of them...

Whitestone, probably easier to list what I haven't had....

Shermer, I've had an IF Ti, nice, but mine had a v short wheelbase, the sort that tried to get me to somersault down hills. I think though it was an odd one off....

Kona Unit?

I've got a 2017 one and from what I gather I'm meant to recomend that as a result? 😉

Sliding Kona Dropouts, so you can swap stuff out a bit or add gears

27+ clearance, so 29 clearance, not sure I'd want to go 29+ on it mind.

Brake mounts are on the dropouts, they do Through Axle and QR drops for them.

2018 has a seat post that'll suit a dropper (mine doesn't).

Reynolds.

Complete bikes in last years model can be had for £650 or so.

I'd still have the shipping / import tax issue...

I got Vassago Verhauen last year, it’s beautiful.

It was pricey, I think it was £1000, but it’s built from TruTemper OX Platinum tubing, has Paragon dropouts and come in just shy of 21 pounds with what I’d call sensible kit

Vassago Verhauen
