Baggy or Lycra?

I only do Lycra, been very pleased with Castelli, Endura and Polaris so far.

I am a fan of my Sombrios - simple, comfy, fit well. But I am also using some Merrill and Salomon soft shell shorts that are all better than my over designed Endura Humvees.

Troy Lee Moto's ate the only ones I've had that haven't worn through at the arse/crotch with peak district winter grit

Gore is excellent kit IMO. Shorts wise I've only used the Alp-X waterproof shorts which are excellent. Good fit and durable. Otherwise I have a couple of jerseys, a softshell jacket and a goretext jacket. As with the shorts they're very well put together and last well. The oldest piece of Gore kit I have is about 6 years old.

If you fancy something cheaper, I recently bought some of these for road commuting. Wanted something with a slimmer fit than standard baggies so they don't flap around. They're very basic, with no waist adjustment (it's elasticated) which is a pain, but otherwise very good. I got the wrong size initially and wore/washed them twice so couldn't return so a medium will be going onto the classifieds soon if you're interested.
