Im after a new seatpost and only have around £40 to spend.

The Giant one i have now is useless the clamp doesn't clamp at all and the rails start to move throughout the ride.

I want something that will clamp firmly and actually work lol

£40 for Thomson seatpost is cheaper than trade. Ouch.

Truvativ Stylo Team? Works well for us, light, easy to use.

I'm happy with my RaceFace one. Seems to be a cheapish one here

How long?

I like FSA - I found my previous two seatposts had a really good price/weight.

Controltech Team Issue 1

Great, especially if you want a little bit of layback (Thomson layback seatposts are just plain ugly)

Theres a Nukeproof on the classifieds for £30 (31.6)

I have the same ControlTech as jfeb suggests. Lovely thing. (As lovely as a seatpost can be anyway.)

There's a ControlTech well within your price range - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=40225
That'd be my choice.
