Currently on a Bel Air rl but was thinking of having a change on a new build.
What do you guys use and any recommendations?
Charge Spoon Ti, it's comfortable and not too expensive, one of the few saddles I found immediately comfy and didn't have that breaking my arse in period.
belair ti
brooks b17
wtb something or other.
all nice.
selle slr.
either xc gel flow.
standard 135.
or teknologika
depends on the bike
2 of my bikes have Selle Italia Flites, the other has a WTB Silverado. The Flites are great for my arse, the wtb is ok for short rides. When one of my Flites dies, i'm thinking about a Charge Knife next, it looks good.
various specialized saddles depending on road, mtb, etc all in 143 size.
Recommended them to a mate who now calls them "a revelation"
Agree completely with Akira.
I ran a Bel Air RL Ti before it and it was good but the Spoon is more comfortable and I reckon it looks better too
Specialized Alias Ti in 155 for my generous sized rear end!
Impossible to recommend a saddle for comfort as everybody is different surely? I have fully stripped down SLR's on all my bikes. They look like they should cut you in half but are supremely comfortable for me. Another thing that I found, the thicker the pad on the shorts, the more uncomfy they are. Currently riding in lycra running shorts. Works for me.
i use a f*king painful one
i'm with barca there.
i find a nice thin/solid saddle is super comfy.
and fat/soft chamois are pish. a thinner harder/denser one is better (imo)
Charge Spoon on both bikes. Couldn't get on with the Bel Air (if anybody wants a 1 ride old Ti Bel Air email me 🙂 )
My rides.....
Flite Ti
Specialized Toupe
SLR XC
mine...
WTB Silverado SLT
WTB Devo SLT
WTB Rocket SLT
All work well for me, have tried sooo many saddles in the past...
i got spoons on both bikes. ti railed on mtb, standard cro-mo rails on road. couldn't tell the differrence in weight before putting themonto the bikes. not really the sort of place you need to save weight.
never found them to be uncomfy and the white has stayed white on the road bike. brown on the mtb.
20 quid for cro-mo. bargin.
had an wtb before these. find that although comfy enough they look very bulky. it also sucked up water as it had fabric panels. not good in that respect.
I use the ladies ariel saddles from spesh in a 143 size, very comfy.
had belair ti on both the FS and Cotic soul.
Thought I would try and lose some weight from the FS (Ventana X5) and tried the Ti Fly from merlin (£33).
Looks like a hard saddle but I was surprised how comfy it was. It was harder than my SDG Belair but that did'nt seem to bother me.
Original shape Flite ti.
Fizik Goni XM - Wonderful
Specialized BG Phenom SL skinny @rsed version ftw.
Spoon - good
Some cheap selle italia - good also
WTB Devo - just too hard for long rides
WTB Rocket V's for a few years but have just bought a Charge Spoon Ti.
Have yet to fit it but seems pretty comfy.
little bit worn out that Simon
Fizik Aliante Kium rail on one bike, Aliante Carbon on race bike and Arione carbon on the road bike.
Aah! The efect of a vegan diet, sfb? 😀
Phenom
spesh phenom 143 gel, likes it very much much comfier than others i've had, first saddle I've had that hasn't become a pain in the arse after more than 2 or 3 hours
Aah! The efect of a vegan diet, sfb? [:D]
no, I'm not vegan, and it's just wore in nicely now :o)
Original On-One Inbred saddle, just love 'em!
Got a Planet X saddle that I guess will be much the same as the On One Inbred...very comfy and a steal at six quid. Also a SDG Bel Air I-Beam that fits my rump very nicely... but nothing (on a bike) that I've sat on can match my old WTB SST98.... A true classic.
Fizik Nisene on all bikes.
My three mountain bikes have I-Beam FX's on, which are the most cosierently comfortable saddles I've used in twenty-plus years of riding, my Sutra has a Brooks Swift Ti on a Moots Ti post.
WTB Rocket & Brooks.
