I'm going to be unhelpful and suggest saving up a bit more if you can and getting some entry level carbon wheels. I bought Prime RD and they're amazingly comfortable. That said, stock seems patchy and the cheaper ones seem to be only available in rim brake currently.
Really transformed my road biking into a much more comfortable form of road biking 🙂
Those mavics are very cheap - as long as you can still get spokes for them (I’d stock up on a few now) that’s seems a great deal.
Just riding along have their "core" wheels for about £300.
The rim brake ones are 2:1 laced with 27 spokes, I am tempted to get a set to find out what they are like.
J bend spokes so easy to get spares.
^^ I was literally about to say - whatever JRA wheels fit closest to your budget. They’re all generic parts, but the 3 sets of JRA wheels I’ve got have been the tightest, best built, wheels I’ve owned and all have been absolutely trouble free (oldest set is 8 years old now).
Orro have got some Fulcrum hoops on offer....

Another happy JRA owner
I'm aware that they are just rebadged stock parts, but I'm pretty fond of my Hunt 4 season SuperDura for road touring & gravel.

15% off some other lines as well at the moment.
Have a look at VEL wheels from Sigma Sports too. Discounts on carbon and alloys wheels at the moment. I’ve been pleased with my carbon wheels that I’ve been running for the last 18 months.
Hunt were doing a pretty good deal on their 4 Season wheels recently.
OP budget almost stretches to what I and others paid for the Sigma VEL 50 RL wheelset last November (£360), I really must make a start on fitting the MT800 rotors https://www.merlincycles.com/shimano-xt-mt800-ice-tec-centrelock-rotor-180696.html ; 11-34 cassette; Vittoria latex tubes and GP5000 tyres in the hope of spring finally arriving in April... Along with my missing legs! 😆
My lad has just taken delivery of some cosmic elites (QR, rim brakes) from Merlin at that price.
He's coming over tomorrow morning to do the tubeless set up, so i can tell you how they are. Some discussion that they are very hard to get tyres on, but he's bought some Hutchinson fusion 5s which are made same place Mavic USTs were manufactured
As an update, cosmic elites wheels look great, spin v well, the Hutchinson tyres went one with no fuss, and they seem to have pretty much sealed w Stans. He's just doing a couple of local laps to get the sealant properly settled.
I picked up a fitted but new / unused set of MAVIC KSYRIUM SL DISC WHEELSET from eBay for £300, sub 1600g and no taping required for tubeless, might be worth a look.
Some of those above are a bit porky.
I honestly wouldn't bother with those wheels. Ran these till yesterday when I got some carbon aero prime wheels. Really happy with them. Light and go up tubeless easy. If you would local to glasgow I'd off my used ones for £200. Running 28mm goodyear F1 tubeless.

DM'd you, OP!
