In light of ian_martin's thread about wearing a 'minor' team's jersey, I got thinking about the jerseys I wouldn't actually mind being caught in.

So what are your favourites? Vintage and current.

Seeing as it was the old 7-11 Team that really inspired me to ride in the beginning, I have to say that one.

[img] [/img]

And currently, it must be Wilier Selle Italia. I love the Wilier logo.

[img] [/img]

There are a number of runners-up, but I'll go with those two on top for now.

EDIT: I should add, NO national jerseys.

Quite like the Movistar & Orica jerseys from this year, but then I like blue 🙂

As for vintage, there was a Mondrian based one in the 1980s, forget which team...

La Vie Claire was the Mondrian-inspired jersey. I have one, pity I'm too fat for it coz it's beautiful

+1 for the La Vie Claire one. Got a soft spot for the Z team one. Had one in my youth and it's part of my early Tour watching memories...
[img] [/img]

Wouldn't wear one now though. FKW and all that.

I had a replica one from the 1980s one that I wore for MTBing for years.

Sold it on eBay in a clearout a while ago, surprised it went for about £25 - it was grubby and had a few catches.

Might get the reproduction one in future. I never raced for them but I've got the same initials as Sean Kelly, so I reckon it's OK.

Canyon Sram's 🙂 its strikingly different.

I backed Velocio Sram on their kickstarter campaign, so have one of their jerseys, but have only worn it twice, once at my first ever TT and when I went to the womens tour to see them.

Infact the team has had the right idea since the Lululemon days, they are so different, you know who they are and who sponsors them without looking like a mobile billboard.

Probably the favourite, with most of the Raleigh ones a close second.
Team Banana and the old skool Ti Raleigh were particularly good, quite liked the Panasonic too.

Any of the current world tour teams.

Because it would mean I would be a pro rider, competing on the world stage....

I've got one of those Z jerseys, I had one as a child and wore it incessantly so mum got me one for a birthday present as a 38yo !
I also have the red and yellow highroad one and an androni one which is a lairy blizzard of sponsors, it also doubles as my 'team jersey that is from? a dirty doper team'

I like the current lotto belisol and the molteni are cool. La vie Claire are iconic and I love them but not sure I'd wear one. Tempted to get the canyon /SRAM one as the Jersey on its own is great but the matching bibs would be OTT on a non team rider

Same as mrblobby I remember buying a team Z shirt with the money I'd saved up for going on holiday one year. My mum made the mistake of telling one of my daughters that they might still have it somewhere in the house so now every time my daughter is out its "Granny have you found dads old cycling shirt yet??"

What about a nice, simple yet bold design that really stands out?

No national teams, tomhoward. Those are the rules. Otherwise, I'm sure many on here would agree with you... 😯

MAPEI is without question the best jersey of all time.

Though Rabobank, Saunier Duval and the red/black Raleigh jersey deserve honourable mentions.

Whilst it is more subtle than Tom Howard's bold suggestion, there's something about the cannondale xc kit this year that stands out
