I'm just doing up the GF's bike and need a mount to get the rear brake fitted.

Would something like this do:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/avid-disc-brake-adaptor-hardware/rp-prod108155
which is a 20mm ISO adaptor, or, just fit spacers to existing?
20mm looks about right to me - the one fitted is 0mm.
Any clues?
Thanks
Alan.
And the disc diameter is ??
180mm
Assuming you are replacing something already fitted then the change in disc diameter will tell you what adaptor - eg going from a 160mm to 180mm disc requires +20mm as you identified.
I would go with a new single adaptor myself rather than piutting spacers omn the existing one.
No, it hasnt had discs on before, so I'm making it up from odd bits I've bought/got in the shed.
I'll measure the gap with a little more accuracy, and hopefully it'll be 20mm and an easy to get part.
thanks
What is the 'base' diameter of the caliper mount on that frame? Could well be 140mm, in which case you would need a +40mm adapter for a 180mm disc.
(20mm gap on the mounts = 40mm on diameter)
You need this Shimano adapter (£5.99): http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/shimano-mount-adaptor-rear-post-to-is/rp-prod13749. Choose the 180mm option.
+40mm universal IS to PM adapter or a rear specific IS to PM 180mm
"base" front disc is 160 and rear 140 hence is using the smallest IS to PM adapter hence +40mm universal front or rear adapter
5 English pounds gets you the right adapter from superstar. You need type 4:

Thanks all, I took the pic to the LBS, along with the 0MM mount, and he gave me a Shimano mount, here:
http://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/shimano-adaptor-sm-ma-r180p-s-rear-180mm-is-2000-26793
Which is exactly the right part, and amazed me that he had one in, I'd expected to have to order it. £10, so not over-priced too.
Thanks all.
Same as the one on the CRC site recommended above. Good to hear you got it sorted quickly.
