as my wife wont let me buy a new bike im going to treat myself to a new set of forks to replace my 2006 revelations!!
im going to go bolt through for a bit of extra tracking stiffness
what can people recommend then ??
i know on one say the 456 would take 6 inch forks , but is anyone running them on there 456 without front end problems??
cheers
stve
First off I have to admit I dont own a 456 but have had a Tinbred and just going to build a scandal, as they both run 4 or 5 inch forks, it would seem a shame to run the 456 with less than the 6, get something with travel adjust of lock down if your worried about the front lifting on climbs..... Opinions vary.
Pike. It seems like the way to go for a 456.
My brother has a 456 with Marzocchi AM forks that were set at 130mm and the bike felt a bit low to me so I recently serviced them for him and changed the travel they are now 150mm and while I havn't ridden it yet it does feel better when just sitting on the bike.
I run coil Pikes on mine, which are fine. Most of the time I run them around 120mm though. The full 140mm is fine for proper downhill sections but for most other stuff 120 feels better. Depends how fast you like your steering I guess.
