I've just started riding again after a scaphoid injury last year (that hasn't properly healed) and have been very impressed (initially) with the 661 Wrist Wrap pro. The two "stiffening discs" provided the perfect balance of comfort and resistance to bending the wrist too far back to where it gets painful.
But already after just 2 rides those discs have a slight backwards bend to them, reducing the resistance they offer.
Clearly I need something just a little bit stiffer. I think it should be relatively straightforward to use the original parts as a template to cut out an additional section to sandwich between them.
But what material to use? And where to get hold of it? In my head I'm picturing some sort of slightly flexible thermoplastic available in sheet form, but can't think where to source.
ebay. Look for something like ABS, for a cheap plastic.
You may have to get a range of thicknesses to get the optimal stiffness.
You can buy small sheets of carbon fiber online. You could make it out of fibreglass, the sheets and resin are readily available. A bit of experimenting might be necessary to get the thickness right for the flex you want.

I have done similar except I bought a wrist brace with these aluminium splints that were too stuff. I went around the house hold trying different things. Plastic from bottles of cleaning fluid, really cheap thin IKEA chopping board etc. Gi around somewhere like Wilko or pound shop as well. I didn't want to order online as I needed to go and feel stuff bend it etc
I also made my splint a little shorter on the palm side.
or Kydex
Would something like Ergon grips also help in stopping the wrist bending back? I've just put some on my bike as I'm struggling with an ulnar nerve issue and that's made worse by bending the wrist back and they prevent me doing that when riding.
