Hi was wandering what lights people use for all night solo races.

What do people do about battery life? Do you just have lots of back-up battery packs?

Apologies for numptiness of question

First up, you need batteries, or charging facilities. If you don't have a backup team, see if your car power point / cigarette lighter will run without keys in the ignition. If so, maplin do a rectifier (3 pin adaptor) for the cig lighter for £15 or something - if the battery on your system doesn't have one already.

Ay-ups might be great, but will they run for 8-12h of darkness on full? An AA battery based system will be preferable, as an AA cigarette lighter based 1h fast charger is £15, and if its laps e.g dusk til dawn / MM, thats the way forward.

A pair of Fenix L2D (one on the bars, one helmet mounted) with 2Fish mounts. Throw in a handfull of AA's and you are set to go. Vapextech make high capacity AA's and fast chargers...have a look on Ebay.

At worst send your pit-b!tch out for some Duracells from the 24hr Tesco 🙂

I'll be using a Hope Vision 4 as a main light with a Lumicycle HID and a couple of batteries as backup light.

Lumi Led3 with a pro battery, i have just got 12hours out of my system without charging, my ride partner has the bigger battery and he is upwards of 17 hours without a charge. Gives out a fantastic light too 😉
