Can't see a recent topic on this. But what kids knee pads would you recommend for a 10 year old.
Criteria is comfortable for pedalling on longer rides, and fit well a lanky 10 year old with big calves and skinny thighs.
He's had...
Fox Launch - Fit well but not so comfortable for all day pedalling due to shin length pads (now too small for him anyway)
661- Too tight on the calf and too loose on the upper leg so went back.
Most of them seem a sleeve type fit but worried without straps the fit won't be great given his thigh to calf proportion seems slightly out the ordinary.
I don't really want to keep ordering and returning ones that don't fit.
having the same but opposite problem with a skinny 9yo, can't get anything to stay up and as you say don't want to blow 50 odd quid on something that wont last. He does wear Protec pads which he has for skating which are a good fit for uplifted stuff but general riding are a bit too hot and bulky, they are well protective though and stay were they are supposed to.
Sorry not much help there...
My 11 year old has a set of the Sweet protection ones and they've been great so far.
Stif were selling them off for a song at Ard Rock, maybe give them a buzz.
G Form are comfy and v lightweight
Just ordered some Ti-Go pads for the eldest. Heard good things so hoping they work out
My tallish, skinny ten year old has 7IDP pads. They're the adult elbow/youth knee pads. Gonna have to do some weights for when she grows out of them though. Seems pretty happy with them.
10 year old using Dakine Slayer Pro knee and elbow pads with no complaints.
Adults small. Sleeve type with adjustable velcro straps.
I wear IXS Flow Evo+ in XL size despite wearing small in every other item of kit, so their smaller sizes may well have something to suit a child.
