[#8148345]

Hi all,
My current HT is a Carrera Fury - which has served me well for nearly 3 years and got me back on a bike.

[IMG] [/IMG]

As I will have a set of tapered steerer Fox 32's going spare I was thinking of swapping the running gear off the Careers on to a new frame and building a 'hard core HT' with the 140 forks.

I like the on-one 456 but they're all straight steerer.

Any suggestions?

Dartmoor Hornet if you can adapt your rear wheel.

I have a large carbon 456 that I've just split up if you're interested, that takes a tapered steerer and has a 9mm qr rear too.

I like the on-one 456 but they're all straight steerer.

Are they 1 1/8th straight or 44mm straight?

What about a 26" Cotic BFE?

Or if used a 26" Soul with 44mm ID headtube or On One C456?

Stanton Slackline - there's been 3 models...original 26" with Straight Steerer tube, the 631 which was also 26" and accepts tapered steerer and they have recently released a 27.5" called the 631 Next Gen.

They no longer have any 26" in stock so you'd need to pick up a 2nd hand bargain or call around stockists, I'm sure someone will have one knocking about.

If your on Facebook, check out the 'Stanton Owners Group', loads of info and photos on there.

I ride a Ti Slackline and its crazy good!!

456 Evo:

The head tube remains a standard 1.125in "external" or "normal" or "EC34" type. No fancy pants oversize tapered stuff for this one. Keeping it easy for you to swap over and upgrade.

or "we couldnt be bothered to make sure the frame works with tapered steerers so you are going to struggle to find forks that fit"

If I could work out how to PM people I'd drop you a line....

Like the look of the Hornet - seems like a decent from for the price.

Not sure what size I'd go for though - would be tempted to say large (18") as it sizes up pretty close to the Mega.

The on one 45650b has a tapered steerer and runs fine with 26" wheels and forks.

Have ruled out On-One frames though as my current dropper won't fit - need a 31.6 seat tube.

Idea is to swap as much over from the Carrera as I can - mainly the 'big cost' items - wheels, dropper and my spare tapered forks.

Hornet is looking favourite.

Sure you're not getting confused? Carbon 456 has 31.6 seat tube, with a 34.9 clamp.

Dirkpitt74, I think the pm system only works for full members who've paid up to use the for sale section too, my email is sdd250@hotmail.com and then I can send you pics etc if you're interested.
