26ers with straight steerer, is that the reason?

I bought some of those new a year ago for not much more than half that, so maybe someone wasn't aware at what the retail price was?

Seems crazy to me, specially when the other week World cup versions with carbon steerer went for £60 (man was I p*ssed I missed them)
