british cycling decided she should be a track cyclist

Wikipedia has her doing both, Jason Kenny came from there? Worked out OK.
We were talking numbers and they said it was 1700-1800W at the end of the ramp at a hell of a cadence so it does translate

Weirdly I Googled this earlier - there are newspaper articles talking about her going to Rio for BMX, but nothing within the last 6 months or so.

I'm sure I read she's now part of the track programme and is going for the sprint team on Tokyo.

Don't think she got back onto the track soon enough to get the numbers/training to have a chance at Rio.
Pretty sure i saw an interview with her late last year about it.

No idea what impact Shane Sutton being there would have had on her prospects ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

From what I read, if she was good enough she would have been pushed and supported, if she wasn't she would have been removed from the programme unceremoniously.

She's said on Twitter that she didn't qualify and indicated that she thought it was time to move on from bmx.

She's team sprint training for Tokyo 2020.

Gave up BMX racing more or less of her own volition, too many breakages and it's pretty much guaranteed as a BMXer you'll be breaking a couple of bones a year. She still rides it for fun, seen her on the indoor track at Manchester a few times just messing around.

She's very good in the team sprint, her and Victoria Pendleton were already World Champions a few years ago (2007/2008) so it's not something she's suddenly been told to do. After three years at that she went off to USA for a couple of years as a pro BMXer then returned and joined the track squad.

Plenty of BMXers mix track and BMX - Jamie Staff was a BMX World Champion before he moved to Team Sprint. Chris Hoy started his career racing BMX.

There's always someone, coming on here with their facts and knowledge, we want spurious rumours about overly biased BC coaches and performance directors so we can get wound up in faux indignation at the ignorance of our (insert preferred discipline here).

I was bloody impressed by her Wall of Death cycle rider that supported Guy Martin's motorbike attempt. By necessity, her record was a bit of a side-line in the TV show, but it was an amazing effort.
