i'm new to the 29er, I've been riding it over the winter as a ss and now i've geared it as a 1x9 with a 32 up front and a 12 -36 on the back
so far with no problems, but with the weather breaking the rides are getting harder (due to the new garmin gps) so time to sort my gearing out.
i'm thinking a 26+42 up front with the 12-36 one the back?

Advice please.

Well, I've got 34x13 on the other one with a Rohloff hub, which gives me gears from 1.7 to 8.9 metres.
26/42x12-36 would give you 1.7 to 8.1 metres, so about the same.

14 tooth Rohloff sprocket ?
Where'd you get that ?
Not that I want one, I'm just curious as I've only ever seen 13, 15, 16 and 17.

32:18 on the SS

34 or 36 front (depends on the course) with 12-34 rear on the 1x9.
